After almost three months Asia, it was time to head back home but it wasn't exactly the end of our trip... My cousin and his wife live in Abu Dhabi so we stopped by for a couple of days.
We didn't do a lot as we were kind of broke (not really but we did want to have some money left once home) and life here is expensive.
It was quite a big change compared to Asia, the last time we saw buildings as big as here was in Bangkok almost three months ago and the heat, no forest, trees just malls, buildings and the desert.
We saw a bit of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, we walked around in the ginormous malls and hide from the heat (37°C with no wind and a blinding sun, even in cars with sun proof windows you HAVE to wear sunglasses). My cousin nicely invited us to restaurants and Yas Waterworld (which was fun). But as we were here from Friday to Monday and as he worked on Sunday (it is not a catholic country Sundays are like a normal day of the week) we couldn't do much. The only big thing we did as the Grand Mosque which was breathtaking: so white, clean, big, calm,... Otherwise we spent the time catching up and doing nothing but eating and talking (one of the best things in life am I right ?!)
