Indonesia, Bali Week 2

For our second week in Bali as I said we did the same cities but not the same areas and places to stay, as a group of three it was easier, cheaper and nicer to sleep in hotels. We slept one night in Depensar to get our friend who was arriving late at night from the airport and left the next day to Ubud. We went in another area of Ubud, in the main street this time but our hotel was away form the road so really quiet.
The first day was just us getting lost a the new area we just discovered, looking at new restaurants (food is very important okay !), new places to visit,... We walked and discovered rice-fields in the north of Ubud and we went in a tiny restaurant were we enjoyed a fresh coconut, we came back and enjoyed the sun by the pool.
The second day we planned to go to the Mount Batur during the following night (you have to leave at 2:00 in the morning and you go up the mountain during the night so you can see the sunrise on the mountain which is just beautiful) so we didn't do much and went to bed early. When we got back at 11:00 am we were pretty tired so we chilled by the pool and took a nap.
The next day we went to Tegalalang rice fields and to Ubud Palace, the Puta Taman Saraswati and the Taman Ayun Temple where the gardens were beautiful and peaceful.
During our third day in Ubud we went to the Monkey Forest (very touristic place but the gardens and the art gallery were quite nice) and spent the afternoon by the pool. The next day we were on a mission to find souvenirs for friends and family so we did a lot of different shops and luckily found what we were looking for !
For our last day we took a cooking class (we saw earlier on the week that a restaurant near us offered cooking class). We went to the market in the morning and picked our ingredients, the lady teaching us also explained a lot of thing about the fruits, vegetables and what they use the most. We learned a lot of things and after the market we cooked our meals and ate them afterwards (the best part not gonna lie !).
Then it was time to leave... We went to Amed again but in another area near a boat wreck where we spent days to explore and swim around, we mainly did snorkelling and enjoyed our last days in Bali. Sadly it was time to go home and really leave Indonesia. We just had a day to squeeze a quick visit to Tanah Lot Temple, the weather was bad but oh well one bad day is not the end of the world ! Our time here in Bali was awesome and marked the end of our big Asian trip that I will always remember.

FYI: We mainly stayed in Jati 3 bungalows in Ubud. After in Amed we slept at Eka Purnama cottages. We ate in Buddha Bowl, Nomad (really really nice), Watercress (açaï bowls), Warung Garasi and other small restaurants. We made our reservations via Booking.com.  All the photos were taken with my iPhone.
