Thailand, Chiang Mai

Our first stop was Chiang Mai, we both never been to Asia and we thought it was a nice way to discover Thaï culture without being too lost (and too hot as the city is situated in the North the temperature was colder than Bangkok).
The city is really nice, surounded by nature and mountains you can do a lot of different activities. Also all the main temples are in the center, so if you like to walk you can do it by walking, you don't have to take a tuk tuk or a taxi. We decided to walk a lot because it allowed us to get lost and wonder around the city..
The temples are beautiful, the details outside and inside as well as the colors used are amazing. When you go inside (cover your shoulders and wear long skirt/pants) you can sit on the floor (feet behind you not facing Buddha) and enjoy the moment of calm. They beep a lot while driving so the city can be a bit noisy so it was nice to relax in the nature around the city, exploring temples outside, taking care of elephants,..

The inhabitants are really nice and smile a lot but since we are tourists they will (most likely) try to sell you things at a higher price (same for transports), but you can negociate with them, you just need to smile while you do it and be reasonable !

If you have any recommendation for other travelers please leave them bellow ! Also if you already went in Chiang Mai I would love to read about it.

FYI: We came by plane with Qatar Airways (Paris/Bangkok flight) then we took a plane from Bangkok to Chiang Mai via Bangkok Airways. We slept outside the city near Central Festival (a big mall), we found our place on Airbnb. We ate a lot in the mall (Sukishi Charcol Grill and Japanese Restaurant, the Food Park and other restaurants are pretty good) we also made food at home since we had a kitchen or ate in the streets. All the photos were taken with my iPhone.
